The Sandbox

The Sandbox blockchain is a community-driven gaming platform consisting of three integrated products that together provide a comprehensive experience for user-generated content (UGC) production. The combined products further benefit users by allowing them to secure copyright ownership for their user-created content through blockchain and smart contracts.

Voxel Editor

VoxEdit is a tool developed in order to make the creation of voxel models and NFT assets something easy. The powerful creation package, that runs in both PC and Mac, allows its users to not only create but also animate anything on their minds, from the leaf to the tree, to the animals on it, the children and their toys playing on its shadow or even a powerful spaceship seeing all from above.

Voxels are 3D pixels that work like building blocks, giving the freedom needed to quickly compose beautiful creations. After the creation is completed it can be exported from VoxEdit into The Sandbox marketplace to become NFT game ASSETS.

Marketplace

The Sandbox’s NFT marketplace allows users to upload, publish, and sell their NFT creations made with VoxEdit. Creations are first uploaded into an IPFS network to provide decentralized storage and then registered onto the blockchain to prove ownership. Once this is accomplished, creations become ASSETS that can be sold by making an initial sale offer on the marketplace where potential buyers can then purchase them.

Game Maker

With the free to download Sandbox Game, anyone can create incredible 3D games! There's no need to worry about coding, the tool is equipped with accessible visual scripting tools and allows the creators to leave their mark on a vast, stunning metaverse, filled with possibilities and interactive creations.

Inside the box

The Sandbox is a game platform based on the blockchain, it uses several token types as a way of ensuring a circular economy between players, creators, curators, and land owners:

SAND: the ERC-20 token used within The Sandbox as the basis for all of the ecosystem’s transactions and interactions.

LAND: a digital piece of real estate in The Sandbox metaverse. Players buy LAND in order to populate it with games, assets and interactive experiences. Each LAND is a unique (non-fungible) token lying on the public Ethereum blockchain (ERC-721).

ASSETS: a token created by players who build/assemble user generated content (UGC). ASSETS utilize the ERC-1155 standard and can be traded on the marketplace, with their main utility being to serve as creation elements in The Sandbox Game Maker.

Your own plot of LAND

On The Sandbox metaverse, LANDS represent real state in a way that allow players to build and enjoy interactive experiences. If you own a LAND, you will be able to fill it with the Games and Assets that you want. Each LAND is a unique NFT that lies on the public Ethereum blockchain (ERC-721).

There's a total of 166,464 LANDS in The Sandbox, but not all of them are available yet. All of them are a part of a single map that forms The Sandbox metaverse.

Two different types of real estate opportunities exist on The Sandbox:

LAND: The basic Sandbox terrain unit. Each unit consists of 96x96 meters in the game world, a perfect size to populate with blockchain game experiences, but not big enough that a single person can't manage.

ESTATE: One ESTATE is composed of several LANDS. Here you can expect amazing experiences by teams of creators, with enough space to introduce larger and even more immersive online content.

LANDS are where the adventures are hosted, the contests happen, where players can earn tokens, watch shows, engage in amazing experiences, and more!
